Volunteers and the Law: Myths and Misconceptions

Over the past year, DOVIA Sacramento has featured educational programs to assist volunteer leaders review and rethink their programs and careers. Topics have included Building and Sustaining Strong Volunteer Leadership; Strategies for Attracting Today’s Volunteer; Career Development: A Strong Digital Presence; and Volunteer Redeployment and Reconstitution: Tools and Strategies.  Each session’s materials are available on our website.

With movement towards a broader reopening of volunteer programs, now the time has come to examine strategies to re-assess your volunteer program’s legal, compliance, and risk management core practices. Discussion items will  include insurance, work rules, and governance.

Registration is free.

Since 1978 DOVIA Sacramento has served to broaden community awareness of volunteerism by furthering communication among DOVIA members, Sacramento/Sierra Region area community agencies, and the public.
